Sinharaja Forest Reserve is one of Sri Lanka’s most precious natural treasures 🌿.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in the southwest of the island, and is considered the country’s last remaining primary tropical rainforest.

Highlights of Sinharaja Forest:

🦜 Bird paradise – Perfect for birdwatchers, with species like the Sri Lanka Blue Magpie, Red-faced Malkoha, and Green-billed Coucal.

🐒 Wildlife – You may spot purple-faced langurs (monkeys), giant squirrels, and even rare reptiles and amphibians.

💧 Waterfalls & streams – Hidden inside the forest are beautiful streams and cascades that make the hike magical.

🌧️ Climate – It’s a wet, misty rainforest, so expect frequent rain showers and lush greenery year-round.

🚶 Eco-tourism & trekking – Guided tours are common, as the forest is dense and full of winding paths.
